A new report finds that Flanders accounted for nearly 70% of all tech startup jobs in Belgium.
The report results from work by Hiva, KU Leuven’s Research Institute for Work and Society, and Sirris, a Brussels-based center for tech industry information.
According to a report in The Bulletin, the research found that 1,353 tech start-ups in Belgium in 2017 accounted for 10,349 jobs, 7,140 of which were associated with companies in Flanders.
“By stimulating the innovative power of tech start-ups, we want to increase the economic impact of these companies and help realise their potential at the international level,” Hilde Crevits, Flemish labour and innovation minister, told the newspaper.
